Career
David was first admitted to practice as a solicitor in South Australia in 1979. He moved to the Territory in January 1980 to work for the Darwin firm Ward Keller where he became a partner in 1986. In 1984 David spent a 10 months working in the ACT. David joined the Independent Bar on 1 February 1995. David has been a mediator for Relationships Australia and the Community Justice Centre and has been engaged as a private mediator in commercial matters. He has mediated for the Commissioner of Business Tenancies. David has been a member of the Law Society Council most recently from 2007 and has been a member of the Professional Indemnity Committee, Dispute Resolution Committee and Ethics Committee. In 2009 David commenced conducting adjudications under the Construction Contracts (Security of Payments) Act (NT). David for many years assisted the DCLS advice sessions and presently provides advice at NT Legal Aid civil advice sessions.
