Areas of Practice
David presently primarily practices in the area of Construction Contract disputes, either as an adjudicator, as an expert or as Counsel for Parties to such disputes and has conducted seminars in that area. The amounts in dispute range from small claims to multi-million dollar claims. David has also successfully acted for Parties appealing against adjudication determinations in the NT Supreme Court and Court of Appeal.
David also acts for Parties in mediations of commercial disputes or as mediator and is a Mediator on the NT Supreme Court List of Mediators.
David also acts for clients in the following other types of commercial disputes – miscellaneous Contract disputes, Trade Practices Act, Loan Agreements, Breach of Fiduciary Duty, Sale of Land, Tenancies, Commercial Leases, Sale of Businesses, Restraint of Trade, Joint Venture, Shareholder Agreements, Agency, Licences, Insurance Contracts, Mining Royalty, Bad Workmanship, Fraud, Intellectual Property, Partnership Dissolution, Debt Recovery;

David was first admitted to practice as a solicitor in New South Wales in 1979. He primarily continually practised as a solicitor in Sydney until moving to the Territory in July 2009 to work for the Darwin firm, Cridlands MB as a Special Counsel. He joined the Independent Bar on 18 June 2012.
David also acts as a legal member of the Mental Health Review Tribunal and as an ordinary member of the NT Civil and Administrative Tribunal
