William Forster Chambers step up to train some of Darwin’s top CSI in Expert Evidence Workshop

Darwin’s leading barristers chambers recently continued its tradition of involvement in the local community to volunteer in the training of Darwin’s Forensic Science Expert Evidence Workshop run by the Australian and New Zealand Policing Advisory Agency National Institute of Forensic Science.

On behalf of William Forster Chambers, Mark Johnson and Bronwyn Haack gave up a Saturday to act as prosecutors in moot courts, to give Darwin’s Police, Fire and Emergency Services expert staff practice giving expert evidence in Court.  The day was held in the Supreme Court and was attended by a broad range of forensic experts including fingerprint, DNA, chemists, biologists, crime scene, medical, ballistic and fire specialists.

Both Mark and Bronwyn were awarded certificates of appreciation for their assistance.

Other volunteers included prominent ex William Forster Chambers members, now appointed to the judiciary, including Justice Graham Hiley, Justice Judith Kelly and Magistrate Elisabeth Armitage.
