Lyma Nguyen joins William Forster Chambers

I am delighted to announce that Lyma Nguyen has joined William Forster Chambers. Lyma holds Bachelor Degrees in Arts and in Law and a Masters of Law. She also has French and Vietnamese language skills.
Lyma has practised both domestically and internationally in the areas of criminal law, civil reparations and human rights law. In Australia, she worked for six years at the Office of the Commonwealth DPP, both in Canberra and in Darwin. She has acted as counsel in a range of indictable and summary matters. She also worked for a short time at the Queensland DPP. Internationally, Lyma has represented victims’ claims as International Civil Party Counsel before the Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia (Khmer Rouge Tribunal).
Earlier in her career, Lyma worked at the Federal Attorney-General’s Department and the Department of Immigration and Citizenship, where gained experience with domestic human rights, migration and anti-discrimination matters.
In 2012, Lyma was enlisted by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade as a Law and Justice Civilian Expert on the register of the Australian Civilian Corps. In 2013, she received the Prime Minister’s Executive Endeavour Award in recognition of her work in at the Khmer Rouge Tribunal. Lyma is a Committee Member of the Criminal Law Association of the Northern Territory.
