Summary
Ryan practices in commercial and civil litigation. He commenced his career in Adelaide in 2009, before returning to Darwin in 2012. Prior to joining Chambers in 2024, he was a partner and the leader of the Darwin litigation team at HWL Ebsworth Lawyers.
Throughout his career, including as a solicitor, Ryan has regularly appeared at contested interlocutory and final hearings. He has appeared and instructed in a variety of jurisdictions, including the Northern Territory Supreme Court, Northern Territory Local Court, Federal Court of Australia, Federal Circuit Court of Australia, Northern Territory Civil and Administrative Tribunal, the South Australian Supreme, District and Magistrates Courts, as well as matters before the Coroner, the Aboriginal Land Commissioner, and the Independent Commissioner Against Corruption.
He has acted for a wide range of clients, including national and multinational companies, local businesses, liquidators and administrators, not-for-profit organisations, financial institutions, government agencies and individuals. Ryan has a particular interest in insolvency law and topped his class when completing ARITA’s Advanced Certificate in Insolvency.
