Bernadette Raumteen

Bernadette graduated with degrees in Law and Arts from Charles Darwin University in 2014 and was admitted as a legal practitioner in July 2015. She had worked previously as a personal banker and then a business banker at one of the four major banks.

Bernadette has practised as a commercial and civil litigator since her admission, becoming the litigation partner at Maher Raumteen Solicitors in 2019.

Over the last 10 years, she has developed significant knowledge and experience in contractual disputes, banking and finance, wills and estates (including family provision claims), trusts, medical and professional negligence, construction and engineering disputes, mining matters, insolvency and shareholder disputes. She has also been involved in judicial review matters and coronial inquests. She has acted for a wide range of clients, including government agencies, multinationals and insurers, and has appeared regularly in the Supreme Court, the Federal Court and the Local Court.
Bernadette presently serves on the Council of the Law Society of the Northern Territory as its secretary.

She is looking forward to building her existing practice in civil and commercial litigation and developing a practice in workers’ compensation.
